Vik is probably the oldest fishing village in Skåne.
Vik axes from the Stone Age are famous.
Properties were registered here as early as the 17th century.
At the time of the land clearing in 1670, there were 16 properties in Vik.
They were numbered in the 1680s.
At that time, after the Scanian War, the condition of Vik and Skåne in general was miserable.
During the 18th century, new properties were gradually added and in the 1760s there were 36 properties.
Nos. 37 and 38 were registered around 1830, but it was not until the 20th century that new properties were registered.
In 1842, an attempt was made to divide the land between the owners in connection with the legal division of land in the country. It was not until the 1880s that this was carried out in Vik.
No. 10 was included in the registration among the 16 properties from the 17th century when the Swedish Crown wanted to introduce better control after the peace.
Our house was probably built in connection with Hans Blom (1847-1914) marrying Hanna Jönsson (1848-1916) in 1874.
They had nine children.
Their daughter Hanna the younger (1886-1936) married Hilding Mårtensson born in 1893 in Simrishamn in 1918. He was still the owner in 1950.

I bought Vik in 1972.
There I lived for three months during October-December 1972 in a cold house without heating and dug out floors, moved walls, poured and sanded bathroom floors.
I can attest that work makes you hot.
At that time I only had cold water, an outdoor toilet, a stove and a wood stove.
When it got too cold I went to St. Olofs Pensionat and defrosted both outside and inside.
